CTT, Collaborative Teacher Training, Rationale:

The role and functioning of schools are changing and so is what is expected of teachers. We are expected to teach in increasingly multicultural classrooms; to place broader emphasis on integrating students with special physical, emotional and learning needs in their classrooms; to make more effective use of communication and information technologies for teaching; and to do more to involve all school stakeholders. How can we expect to be prepared for all the challenges we will face throughout our careers? Collective Teacher Efficacy, which has been found to be strongly and positively correlated with student achievement, is one approach. Listen to what adult learning and student achievement expert, John Hattie, has to say about teacher efficacy.

What better way to build teacher efficacy than through a sharing of thoughts, knowledge, ideas and expertise from within our school’s teaching community. CTT, Collaborative Teaching Training, provides opportunities to learn from one another through a series of professional development seminars FACILITATED BY US FOR US.

CTT Goal:

To maintain a high standard of teaching; to retain a high-quality sustainable teacher workforce; to learn and lead in a collaborative culture; and ultimately to move the needle of student achievement here at ICSA.
