DEIJ Milestone Met

My school was selected to take part in a case study and subsequently pilot a school climate survey through the Global Equity Collective, GEC. This opportunity offered a means of making gains toward true diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice at ICSAbidjan. This opportunity was born from a place of grievance, inequity, stagnation, injustice, and pain. Under the leadership of the DEIJ Steering Committee in collaboration with senior leadership at ICSA, we are proud to be on our way to building a stronger, more inclusive and equitable learning environment for students, a psychologically safe environment for teachers and all school staff, and an overhaul divisive procedures, policies, and curriculum. A loud shout out goes to the DEIJ steering committee co-leaders Maipelo NZ'guessan and Sientania Mcneil for a job well done. We call ourselves the ICSA steering committee but we are sisters. A special shout out to Sientania for being the collective voice of the steering committee and the spirit of not only the underrepresented but of all. She is indeed a champion. I am privileged to work with such brilliant and passionate women. Let's finish strong, ladies! I am looking forward to what is next.
